Police name man who died at wheel of car

A 63-YEAR-OLD who died after having a heart attack at the wheel of his Ford Focus, has been named by police.

Phillip Sharpe of Smugglers Way, Barns Green died at the scene of the collision on the A264 near Slinfold on Monday (December 13) at about 9.10am.

It is believed Mr Sharpe came off the Five Oaks Road and hit a hedge.

A police spokesperson added: “No other vehicle was involved.

“The A264 was closed for more than two hours while the incident was being dealt with.

“Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to ring Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999 quoting Operation Hillfold.”
