Police appeal for witnesses after man, 22, ‘seriously injured’ in A272 crash

Police are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage following a crash on the A272 today in which a 22-year-old man suffered serious injuries.

Oficers, ambulance and fire crews were called to the crash between Cowfold and Buck Barn crossroads just before 9am this morning (September 22) to a crash involving a white van and a sewerage lorry.

A police spokesman said: “The van driver - a 22-year-old man - was air-lifted to hospital with serious injuries.

“The lorry driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries.”

The road was closed and drivers are being warned of further disruption this afternoon.

Sergeant Chris Ambrose said: “We are investigating the circumstances of this collision and are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened or may have dash-cam footage of either of the vehicles.
