Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian in Storrington on Saturday (December 19).

The crash happened on the A283 outside the new Milford Grange housing development just before 10.30am.

A yellow Honda motorcycle travelling east was in collision with an elderly woman.

The woman, 90, from Storrington, suffered serious injuries. She was flown to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton by the air ambulance but later died.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 67-year-old man from Worthing, suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics.

The road was closed for three hours while investigation and recovery work took place.
