A warning over doorstep sellers targeting people in Horsham has gone out from Neighbourhood Watch.

The group is urging anyone who ‘feels threatened’ to call police on 999.

Horsham District Neighbourhood Watch Association vice chairman Ken Broomfield said that the doorstep sellers had targeted the St Leonards Road/Sandeman Way areas, as well as other districts, in the town.

He said the sellers were trying to sell items from their rucksacks and had stated that they had been recently released from prison.

He said: “Neighbourhood Watch advises its members to exercise caution and NOT engage in any unsolicited doorstep sales activity.

“If this happens to you and you feel threatened or unsafe in any way then contact the Police on 999 immediately.”
