Sussex family launch fundraiser to help victims of Covid crisis in India

A Sussex family of seven have been so touched by the plight of people living amid the Covid crisis in India that they are determined to help.

Catherine and John Bradley and their five children are to stage a 20-mile fundraising walk from Pulborough to Littlehampton on Monday (May 3).

They have set themselves a £1,000 target with funds going to the Disasters Emergency Committee.

Catherine said: “The coronavirus pandemic has been tough for everyone but as the recovery starts here we must think about those who continue to face incredibly challenging conditions right now.”

The children who will be striding out on the fundraising trek along the River Arun are Isla, 10, Jago, nine, Merryn, seven, Leila, five, and three-year-old Astrid.

“We think the walk will take 9-10 hours, including plenty of stops, and I suspect there will be a fair amount of piggy backs for the younger two,” said Catherine.
