The team from Piron Recycling, which is based at Holmbush Potteries, Unit 9 Burns Way, raised more than £100 for the charity as they cleaned up around the town on Friday, March 19.

Michelle Soloman, from Piron Recycling, said: “We are giving back to the community in a way that reflects our ethos and decided a litter pick would be fitting for us as a recycling company.

“We felt that after such a tough year for everyone, having clean and tidy outdoors spaces would put a smile on people’s faces for Red Nose Day.

“Not only did we clean up the streets of Horsham but we were able to raise over £100 for Comic Relief, which will go towards so many needed causes both in the UK and globally.

“As a company this is only the beginning and as we grow, our charitable acts will grow with it.”

Piron Recycling focuses on the recovery and recycling of telecoms and IT equipment.

With waste and the environment being such important topics for our generation, the company says it aims to reduce the population’s electronic waste by recycling their equipment for free and paying them for it where possible.

As a company, it says its mission is to give back to the environment and community wherever possible.

Stephen Hopson, managing director at Piron Recycling, said: “As a small and growing business in Sussex, the team have strong connections to the local area in and around Horsham.

“Having the open spaces will be incredibly important this year and taking an opportunity to clear these whilst raising money for Comic Relief which will help other initiatives in communities up and down the UK is really important to us at Piron Recycling.”
