GCSE results 2020: students and staff celebrate at Ifield Community College

Headteacher Rob Corbett said it has been a ‘very difficult time’ for the year, whose last few months of school were lost and exams cancelled.

He added: “It is good to have at least one of the ‘rites of passage’ - results day today.

“After much anxiety and confusion over results in the last week we have welcomed the government’s decision to award these results on the basis of Centre Assessed Grades.

“Whilst I do not intend to share students outcomes in detail, it would be wrong not to celebrate the results for Adam Moali who scored seven grade 9s and three grade eights.”

He said the school is looking forward to welcoming the majority of the year group back to school in the sixth form following their success.

Rob added: “I would very much like to thank year eleven for their patience and hard work and thank all our dedicated team of staff for the immense support they have given them this year and over the last five years.”
