Dogs Trust Shoreham dog of the week: Meet George, an ex-racer in need of a friend

Staff at the rehoming centre in Brighton Road, Shoreham say this ex-racer is adorable and although a little timid when you first meet him, he can quickly be won round with a patient and gentle approach.

George is sociable with larger breeds and gains much joy from their company, indeed the charity says he would benefit from sharing his home with another well-suited canine chum.

Alternatively, if he was the only pet, George would like regular walking buddies but it is important this is in quieter walking areas, to avoid bumping into smaller dog breeds.

George, understandably, has a high chase drive. He is fully trained to wear his muzzle and will need to wear it on walks, as well as needing to stay on his lead. To ensure he can enjoy a regular off-lead run about, it is essential George has a garden at home.

Staff at Dogs Trust Shoreham said George is sweet, occasionally cheeky and playful. He is a big fan of toys and is partial to the soft and squeaky kind, which he often takes to his bed.

George will be unsuitable to live with any other animal species and the youngest people in the family should be over the age of 14.
