Visitors to Horsham town centre were delighted to see the Christmas tree illuminated.
The festive centre point has been hung with baubles and sparkling Christmas lights ahead of its official launch on Monday.
The tree, donated by a group of businesses, traders and individuals, caused great excitement in the town as it’s the first real Christmas tree in several years.
A reader said: “It’s such a wonderful way to bring Christmas spirit to the town.
“To see a real tree return to Horsham seems the perfect way to kick start the Year of Culture,”
As reported by the County Times, the tree is a 25ft Norway Spruce, placed next to the stocks in front of Swan Walk.
The organisers hope the tree will become a springboard for charitable donations.
Donors will be able to see their names on the panels attached to the picket fence at the base of the tree.
The reader added: “That the tree will act as a donation point is great.
“Christmas is a time for thinking of others so to see businesses coming together to gift this donation station is very fitting.”
