A team of stirrers and shakers have won a national competition after serving a performance which left no glass unturned.

After six months of battling it out against some of the most talented bartenders from across the UK, staff from The Dead Parrot, in Piries Place, have won the coveted title of Monkey Shoulder’s Ultimate Bartender Champions.

The team of six impressed the public and industry experts at the finals of the competition last Thursday as they showed true commitment to making a night to remember with a full circus experience.

They pulled out all the stops, from a high striker and a candy floss machine to hook a duck cocktail competition.

The team served up a crowd pleasing and creative menu of cocktails, including the Bearded Lady, Hook a Buck and Tin Can Alley and secured over 489 votes from the judging public.

As part of the winner’s prize, The Dead Parrot will get to run their own bar at London Cocktail Week from the October 5-11. They will get to keep all the takings made during the week which totalled more than £12,000 for the 2014 winners.

Adam Manning from The Dead Parrot said: “We are over the moon to be crowned Monkey Shoulder’s Ultimate Bartenders!

“The whole championship from start to finish was incredible and every team in the final was equally matched with some great ideas .

“ As well as creating some killer cocktails, we also wanted everyone to have fun and I can safely say I think we achieved that. To sum it up all I can say is that The flying circus is for everyone.”
