Ashurst pupils plant trees at village recreation ground

Pupils and staff at Ashurst CE Aided Primary School took part in a special tree planting session at the village recreation ground.

Also joining in were Ashurst parish councillors, the village tree warden and school governors.

Several varieties were planted, all native species to Britain.

Every child took part and added labels to the trees they had planted. The trees will form part of the school’s environmental studies and all the pupils said they were keen to see how their trees developed over time.

Some of the councillors who took part grew up in Ashurst and planted trees there when they were at the school.
