Passengers rescued from bus after A272 crash

Twenty passengers were help to safety from a bus after it was involved in a crash on the A272.

The vehicle ended up on a grass verge at the side of the road with its windscreen smashed after being involved in a collision with a car along the Newbridge Road near Wisborough Green.

Firefighters were called to the scene shortly after 11.20am.

Billingshurst Fire Service said the bus contained 20 passengers and crews helped them off the vehicle to safety.

They were checked over at the scene by paramedics and no-one was seriously injured, a spokesman added.

The road was closed for two hours whilst the vehicles were recovered and the road was cleared.
