Parking restrictions in Storrington on agenda

Parking and waiting restrictions for Greyfriars Lane and Church Street, Storrington, are on the agenda for the next meeting of Chanctonbury County Local Committee.

The meeting takes place on Wednesday December 5, from 7pm, at Storrington First School, Spierbridge Road, Storrington, RH20 4PG.

The committee will consider proposals for a Traffic Regulation Order for Greyfriars Lane and Church Street in Storrington.

These could see the introduction of measures including double yellow lines, single yellow lines and limited waiting bays.

Chairman Frank Wilkinson said: “There have been concerns raised over road safety and dangerous parking near junctions, and the proposals seek to address those areas.

“Our role as a committee will be to assess the merits of the proposals, take into account public representations received, and then take a decision on whether a Traffic Regulation Order should be granted.”

The latest round of Community Initiative Fund applications will also be considered by the committee and they will receive an update on community safety in the Chanctonbury area from Sussex Police.

There will also be the regular ‘talk with us’ item where residents can raise any issues or concerns they have to their local county councillors.
