Horticultural expert Chris Murphy was tasked with looking at the children’s cultivation of flowers, fruit and vegetables, together with any conservation efforts on the site and what actions they take to promote a sustainable approach to the environment.

A record 129 schools from across the region have entered the Blooming Schools element of the Southern Water-sponsored competition, which encourages youngsters to become involved in projects to improve their school grounds. The results will be announced in July.
