The weather was very warm, but the students were calm and organised which resulted in some amazing results, especially considering the age range of the students.

The cakes were judged by Mrs Nicki Steggles who also runs the cookery club at Rydon, and Mrs Donna Pegler a professional cake maker and decorator and they based the results on their originality, construction and taste. Mrs Pegler said, “ 2 hrs to make & decorate a cake is an amazing achievement.

As a professional cake maker I could never accomplish that!”

The students really enjoyed the afternoon and we will certainly be making this a yearly event. Mrs Steggles “ An amazing effort by all the pupils who took part. There were some amazing designs & the cakes tasted amazing.“

The results were as follows:

In year 6 the winner was James Willitt and second place was Lydia Motuel

In year 7 the winner was Rebecca Dunham with second place going to Annabel Lunson
