Hannah Baxter-Eve, Jenny Coleburn, Grace Littler and Max Newall narrowly missed out on a nomination for their short film La Nenuphar.

The shortlist for the ceremony, run by the WJEC exam board, has just been announced, and Nevan and Zachary have beaten out hundreds of pupils to be named in the top three for their category. WJEC has introduced the Moving Image Awards to recognise the huge talents of young people producing moving image work. There were over 650 entries from pupils across the UK to the four categories: Short Film, Film Sequence, TV Sequence and Music Video.

More than 400 pupils and industry professionals will be treated to a talk from one of the UK’s top directors at the ceremony, which will be held at the British Film Institute South Bank on 19 September.

Iyare Igiehon, a former BBC 6Music and BBC 1Xtra presenter, will be entertaining the crowd throughout the afternoon.
