Ripley Court’s annual ‘Ripley’s Got Talent’ event was bigger and better than ever and featured 18 acts performing to a very appreciative audience.

Star turns included solo performers singing, playing the drums and dancing.

Group acts ranged from disco dancing to an interpretation of Circle of Life from The Lion King. It wasn’t just the pupils taking part – a group of teachers from Ripley Court donned tutus and tights for their own interpretation of Swan Lake, with an added dash of Bollywood dancing. Pupils couldn’t be beaten, though, with a tear-jerking rendition of When I Grow Up performed by Year 3 pupil, Amy, picking up the prize for best individual performance. Year 3 dance troupe, Matilda Pops, took top honours for their routine from the West End musical of the same name, Matilda.

Organised by Ripley Court teachers, Elin Roberts and Steve Brunning, the evening raised an incredible £1,300, with money still coming in. As Miss Roberts explained during their visit: “Ripley Court has been supporting Jigsaw for three years and it is always really helpful for us to be able to visit so that our pupils can see for themselves just what a difference their fundraising efforts are making.”

Jigsaw Fundraising Officer, Steven Morgan, says: “We are absolutely thrilled to benefit from the continued support of the pupils and staff at Ripley Court School. This latest donation will be used to purchase playground furniture and a number of smaller sensory resources for the new Early Years Play Area. Our pupils always enjoy welcoming their friends back to Jigsaw so we can show them just how much their donation means to us. Thank you to all the performers at Ripley Court for their ongoing support – it really means a lot to us.”
