Staff soaking at The Towers

Two senior teachers and a Sister of the Blessed Sacrament went the extra mile today at the Towers Convent School in Upper Beeding, when the school held its own version of the Ice Bucket Challenge.

Sister Mary Andrew, who was Headmistress for 32 years, Mrs Hanks, Teacher in Charge of The Junior School and Mrs Trelfa, Headmistress faced their soaking as bravely as possible. Pupils and staff bought raffle tickets in the hope that they would be one of the three lucky individuals who could inflict the watery torture on the foolish volunteers! A once in a lifetime opportunity!

Mrs Sparks, Head of Drama was the ‘Mistress’ of Ceremonies and introduced the victims one by one before they received their comeuppance. Sadly for the spectators the entertainment ended all too soon! Money raised will be sent to two charities; Wateraid and Children in Gaza.
