Parents were able to watch their children sprint on the track, throw the vortex howler or shot put and jump.

Each child also played tunnel ball, ran over fitness ladders and developed their football dribbling skills during the afternoon.

The sports events culminated in relay races for each class, performed to loud cheers from the spectators.

The children gained points for their House, either Arundel, Bramber, Lewes and Pevensey (named after castles in Sussex).

It was a very close-fought competition and only fourteen points separated third and first place, with Bramber being victorious.

The afternoon finished with ice-creams on sale to everyone courtesy of SOCS, the Schools’ Parent/Teacher Association.

Julia Slocombe, Headteacher, said,” It was a brilliant afternoon. I love to see all the children participating in sport and hopefully developing an interest and skill for life.”
