The camp lasted for 2 nights and included a range of adventurous activities including abseiling, caving, wide games, cooking, fire-lighting, knife skills with Pumpkins and a leaders’ versus children football match.

This gave the Scouts and Cubs the opportunity to enjoy new experiences and have fun, including gaining independence whilst being away from home, looking after themselves, staying up late and making new friends.

It is always great to hear how much fun the Cubs and Scouts had on camp and here are a few of their thoughts:

“I like making fires and doing stuff outside”

“I like playing wide games”

“There was a massive field to play on and the food was epic!”

“I like cubs cos you get to have lots of fun”

“There was a really high abseiling wall”

“Lots of activities like abseiling and caving”

“We had a parents’ vs cubs’ football match”

“We loved cooking on our own fire”

“There were fun activities hosted by wonderful leaders”

“On camp we have sleepovers and camp fire circles”.

It was great fun for the leaders too, who enjoyed giving back what was given to them, watching the kids have fun and sitting around the fire.
