Sophia, who competed in the Women’s T35 100m and 200m and came fourth in both, will cut the ribbon to launch the A2B Walk, taking place on Saturday September 13 2014 at Arundel Castle.

Last year this fantastic event raised £17,500 for the award winning charity The Dame Vera Lynn Trust for children with Cerebral Palsy but they want to smash that target so they can continue to support the babies, children and families that so need their help.

Catherine Bristow, Events Fundraiser commented: “I am thrilled that Sophia is supporting our walk again. To have a Paralympic athlete taking part is incredibly exciting; the fact that Sophia has cerebral palsy and has two young children makes it even more meaningful as she truly understands the day to day challenges that the children and their families face.”

So, if you would like to do something incredible that will not only give you a great sense of self achievement but benefit an extremely worthy charity then why not join them?

With two walk distances available of 35km or 12km you can choose what would be suitable for you and still enjoy the staggeringly beautiful views and scenery which Sussex has to offer.

Starting from the spectacular Arundel Castle, the walk will span across the magnificent landscape of the South Downs before finishing at Devil’s Dyke on the outskirts of Brighton.

Not only will this be a memorable occasion for everyone taking part, it also provides an ideal opportunity for you to do something fantastic with friends, colleagues and/or family.

The event is open to everyone who likes walking or just fancies a challenge.

The Dame Vera Lynn Trust have teamed up with the wonderful people at Pied A Terre Adventure to organise this event, so you can be sure that you will be well looked after.

There will be regular refreshment stops, plenty of encouragement along the way and a well-deserved hot meal for all on completion. Plus there is an exclusive mystery prize draw for all those fundraisers who reach the £120 target.
