More than 60 people were in the audience at the concert.

Bonnie says: “We were delighted to raise the money for HART, which does such a worthwhile job in Henfield and is always there to cope in the case of emergencies.”

HART chairman Dick Nye said: “The presence of a defibrillator gives people some reassurance that they can deal with a cardiac emergency while waiting for a paramedic and responder to arrive. Everyone should have some basic training in resuscitation techniques.”

There are currently 11 trained HART responders in Henfield and 28 defibrillators, 14 of them in public access areas. All are paid for by public donations.

Responders, when on duty, are called by the ambulance service in response to 999 calls.
