Muntham House School Budding DJ’s Entertain local youth

The idea was to put on a local Disco for the youth in Barns Green at their youth club. After weeks of practice and lots of theory discussions two Post 16 students Anthony Byrne and Alex Fuller put on a Disco for the local youth club on Thursday 12th December. The evening was a resounding success and plenty of praise was given from the locals and youth club leaders.

Muntham Student Anthony Byrne 17 quoted,” I have loved being taught how to DJ which has helped with my confidence, see the local kids enjoy it was lovely Mr Barrett and Ben have helped us organise this Disco and we really have loved putting on a show for the local kids. I come from London and stay at Muntham during the week, since being there the staff have really helped me.”

Alex Fuller 18 who has been at Muntham for 6 years stated that “ the evening was brilliant and I loved being up there and showing off my skills to the audience. I would like to thank Ben (DJ Split) for supporting us and also Mr Barrett for helping set up this project.”

The students were given hooded tops with their own DJ names embossed on them and the students came up with their own DJ names and also created their own music playlists. In the New year they are going to show the local youth club how to DJ. Future projects will involve local elderly homes and maybe even a children’s hospital ward.
