The event was an opportunity for the village’s clubs, groups and societies to promote what they do and attract new members.

This year’s Expo was the second that the Pulborough Community Partnership has organised, under the project leadership of David Hurst. The event was free to the public and gave them the opportunity to see what is available to do in the village.

The MP toured the stands and chatted to many of the volunteers who were representing their community groups and clubs.

David Hurst of the Pulborough Community Partnership said: “We were delighted that Nick Herbert was able to visit the Expo and see for himself how much there is to do in Pulborough.

“There are lots of groups doing things in Pulborough but it’s not always that easy for people to find out about them. This event provided an opportunity for everyone to come together under one roof and see how much actually happens in this community. We hope it will provide inspiration and interest for both the clubs and the visitors.”

Nick Herbert said: “I enjoyed visiting Pulborough Expo and thought this was an excellent event for the village, helping to promote the many clubs, societies and voluntary groups that are available for local people. It was a reminder of how much is going on in one Downland village alone thanks to the hundreds of volunteers who generously give so much of their time for others.”
