Maths magic show

Girls in Prep 3, 4, 5 and 6 at Farlington School, just outside Horsham, were amazed and enthralled by the Maths Magic Show given by Andrew Jeffrey, the Mathemagician on Friday, June 7.

As part of the prep school’s maths week, Andrew Jeffrey gave two magic shows, one in the morning to Prep 3 and 4 and to the girls in Prep 5 and 6 in the afternoon.

His aim is to change attitudes to maths by giving positive and motivational messages about maths with comedy and illusions.

Several girls acted as the magician’s assistant, helping with tricks, making light bulbs and sponges appear.

With a great deal of audience participation and laughter, he demonstrated the wonder of maths; demonstrating patterns in numbers and the fun that can be had with them.
