Over 100 people attended and were treated to an afternoon of entertainment provided by The Allsorts, a local music hall revue company, during which they were able to celebrate the New Year with wine and nibbles.

Once the entertainment had finished afternoon tea was served by the Lions and their wives with sandwiches, cakes, home-made scones and jam washed down with tea or coffee.

This was the third year that the tea party had taken place and was very well received by all the attendees. Transport to and from the event for many of the attendees was provided by the Lions and supported by the local Rotary club.

Billingshurst and District Lions Club is a thriving Club with a very active social side in addition to the more serious side of raising money for mainly local causes and serving the local community.

If you are interested in finding out more about the Club either call in to the Club’s second-hand bookshop in Jenger’s Mead, Billingshurst or contact Lion Alan Ridout on 01403 871370.
