LETTER: Will leader be signing Charter?
I see from page four of last week’s County Times, that some prospective Tory district councillor candidates have signed the Free Speech Charter.
That pledge would of course put them in direct opposition to the Tory Party whip system.
So will the leader of the Tory Group confirm a) that the whip system will be discontinued and b) that he will himself be signing the Charter, or will he be standing down as Tory leader in the face of so many candidates, who clearly would not comply with the whip?
