x Because, Dr Richardson, for the reasons stated on Pages 169 to 176 of the Horsham District Planning Framework (HDPF) - Proposed Modifications March 2015 - Appendix 4.

And because of the subsequent words of Cllr Claire Vickers, HDC’s Cabinet Member for Living & Working Communities: ‘I can confirm that West of Ifield is NOT a strategic location in our planning framework. Our supporting evidence documents show which alternative sites we have considered through a sustainability appraisal, and this rules out West of Ifield’.

And because it was a monstrous proposal by developers to build on the ancient Parish of Ifield.

On other matters, while at a planning appeal hearing in Horsham, walking from the Capitol to the library and back, something hit me: rather than knocking down Shelley’s Fountain, why not knock down the offices which trap St Mark’s Tower like an imprisoned soul praying to be set free.

Make the area a public square with the Tower as its centrepiece - St Mark’s Square perhaps?

Just a thought.
