LETTER: Sorry that Santa’s visit was cancelled

It is with considerable regret that the Horsham Lions Santa Street Collection in North Horsham on Sunday December 15 was cancelled at very short notice.

To the children and families living in Bartholomew Way, Lemmington Way, Meadow Farm Lane, Tyden Way and all the roads and closes off these thoroughfares, we are extremely sorry to disappoint you. The late cancellation was due to the adverse weather conditions.

We are already planning to return to your area in 2014.

I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of Horsham Lions Club’s members to thank the people of Horsham for their generosity during this period, in helping us to raise so far £2,192.29, which will go a long way to providing the food parcels for 85 needy families in Horsham and surrounding villages as well as providing presents for the 29 children of these families.

If anyone would like to see us in action we will be please to see you at the Tesco store at Broadbridge Heath on Monday and Tuesday December 23 and 24.
