LETTER: Residents close to planned ground

I refer to Horsham Football Club claims that there are no residents within 500 metres of their new proposed football stadium in Horsham Golf and Fitness.

My property is certainly within 500 feet of it, more like 100m in fact. And two of my close neighbours can be no more than 200m away. Then there are all the residents of Denne Park House who are less than 500m away, I am reassured.

So HFC, why the confusion with the distance? Does it have anything to do with the two storey clubhouse that you are proposing?

Or is it the entertainment facilities both upstairs and downstairs for large parties and wedding receptions, as described to me by Mr Lines in person at the Holbrook Club? Or is it the large tarmacadam parking area for 60-plus cars?

I’d also like to question HFC’s claim in a recent edition that the complex was to be built on ‘two disused holes’; again simply not true – and this has nothing to do with confusing metric and imperial measures!
