LETTER: Different rules for council verges

I have just spoken to West Sussex highways whose remit this falls under and am told that there is now a ten week cycle in place!

This is madness. Many good people cut the areas themselves as they like a nice outlook but now we have to pay for removal of garden waste will they still do this and pay extra to the council for removing it when we are still paying them to cut it?

There is no provision in the budget to take cuttings away so if and when it is cut it will look like a hay field.

I also asked about North Street by the council offices and this is cut weekly from May to September.

One rule for them and one for us I feel.
