LETTER: Development is flooding my home

Regarding the thousands of new and proposed houses in the Horsham and Broadbridge Heath area, we have lived in the Arun Valley at Pallingham since 1966 and the river comes into our house nearly every year now, a near yearly problem starting from 2008 when the scales finally tipped.

More development of every kind generates more runoff per hour which generates more flooding downstream. Our property is a bellwether example, and the trend is up.

I find myself writing, and writing each time I edit this email, so I have just deleted the lot. The simple paragraph above says it all, although if you open Pandora’s box you would have a wealth of material from every angle.
