LETTER: Chocolate is toxic for dogs
I was astonished, nay, horrified, to see that last Thursday’s ‘Chipper’ cartoon strip was suggesting that it is acceptable for a dog to be fed chocolate.
Any responsible dog owner (or, indeed, veterinary surgeon) will tell you that chocolate, particularly dark chocolate, is HIGHLY toxic and can cause heart failure – even death.
