LETTER: Backlash of protest at fee
I understand that as from April 2014 there is to be a parking charge of £2 an hour or £10 for the day at Wakehurst.
I realise that the National Trust lease Wakehurst from Kew Gardens, but nevertheless if these charges are going to be implemented the backlash of protests might encourage the trust to come to a more rational agreement with Kew.
I cannot believe that the trust has not realised the detrimental effect that these obscene charges are going to do to their revenues, to the cafés, the restaurant and the shop, and this does not include potential visitors who might think twice of a visit.
