The FLL Challenge competition was held on Wednesday, 10 December, at the University of Kent and saw teams from 15 schools across the South East come together to compete in a range of challenges.

The competition judged the teams not just on their ability to design, build and programme an autonomous robot, but also on their team work, their technical problem solving ability and their ability to identify, research and offer a solution to the real world problem of the future of learning. The team needed to look to redesign an aspect of how we gather knowledge and skills in the 21st century.

Robotics at Christ’s Hospital has grown steadily over the last two years and the CH team have been working together since the beginning September to plan, programme and test a robot to compete at the FLL Challenge.

The last test of the day was teamwork and the judges were hugely impressed by the CH team for the collaborative way in which the team both came up with their solution and carried it through and also their innovative use of the materials.
