Between 11.30am and 4pm, visitors are invited to browse a range of stalls, play traditional fayre games and enjoy an afternoon of live music. Stalls will be selling a range of local produce, including everything from homemade chutneys, jams and delicious cakes, to plants for the garden.

Younger visitors will be able to enjoy a special Children’s Corner, where they can play games together, and there will be a raffle and tombola with an exciting selection of prizes to win. The Downsbeat Swing Band will also be treating visitors to live Jazz performances throughout the afternoon.

All proceeds raised by the Friends of Sussexdown will go towards entertainment for residents, including live music, day trips out, and Christmas and birthday presents for residents, many of whom are ex-RAF veterans.

Heather Rogers, General Manager at Care South’s Sussexdown Country House Care home, said: “We hope to welcome as many people as possible into our lovely gardens for what promises to be an exciting event. Our residents are really looking forward to the event and we’d like to say a big thank you to the Friends of Sussexdown for all their help and generosity in organising the event.

“The Residents’ Amenity Fund is a fantastic cause that allows us to ensure our residents have the best experiences through an exciting activities programme.”

Sally Williams, Friends of Sussexdown Chairman, commented: “Members of the Friends of Sussexdown committee have been working hard all year to make this event a success, alongside a number of other events that we organise at the home. We hope it will be a really special day for residents and for the local community to enjoy.”

Entry and car parking are both free. For further information please contact Paula Keene on 07964 929856
