Maggie Philbin from Tomorrow’s World hosted the final. The team from St Mary’s presented their project, a Robot that teaches young children about recycling, to judges from the BBC, Raspberry PI Foundation and Codeclub - people specialist in their area. The children’s Robot design, teamwork, and incredible enthusiasm gained constant attention from the media including an interview with Sky News.

“The build-up to the results was very nerve racking. PA Consulting did an amazing job of the whole event from start to finish.

“I would like to personally thank them, the children and their class teacher, Mr Ellis, the School Headteacher, Mrs Dutson, my co-leader in this project, Angus Thomas, Neil Ford from Codeclub and a small army of parents who went above and beyond to work with the wonderfully talented children in this effort.

“Through this and other efforts as a school we are looking forward to meeting the new Computing Curriculum in September 2014 head on. Mr Ellis said “I am so proud of the children; they conducted themselves so well and took the whole day in their stride.”
