Horsham Lions donate Easter eggs

I had great pleasure on 2nd April deputising for Horsham Lions President Clare Wilson and attending the Strawford Centre to present our annual gift of Easter Eggs for all the service users. When I arrived I received my usual warm greeting as I have known many of them for years and we are old friends. The main hall was buzz- ing with excitement as the judging of the carefully crafted Easter crowns had just taken place. We then created more excitement with the presentation of the Easter Eggs which were to be handed out when each service user left for home but this was not before a great Easter Egg hunt. The helpers had hidden a considerable number of brightly decorated egg shaped plaques all around the grounds and great fun was had by all in the search. Last year one was never found but this year all was OK. Before I left I was given an update on the recent success of their cricket teams who are now the proud custodians of a trophy. As part of the Lions support for the Strawford we have for some time funded a special coach to guide them and this result is a rewarding outcome and shows that funding the coach again this year will be very worth- while.
