HART climbers celebrate money raised

Together with three drivers, their actual time was 23 hours and one minute - an incredible feat considering they stopped to assist a climber in difficulties.

They gather at The White Hart in Henfield on Friday to celebrate, together with sponsors and supporters.

Climber Anne Dewdney said: “This was a real team effort. We stuck together all the way, resting and eating in the minibus between the three climbs. It was exhausting, but very rewarding - and we have to thank everyone for their support.”

As well as Anne, team members were Claire Greenfield, Sandra Parsons, Martin Tooth, Kas Fletcher, Josh Westlake and Mark Skilton. Drivers were responders Dave Fletcher, John Rodrigues and Heather Kingdon (with PART, Partridge Green Area Response Team).

Sponsors were solicitors Griffith Smith Farrington Webb - the company Anne Dewdney works for - Sean Preston of Southdown Truck and Crane, and Gyles Culver, landlord of the White Hart.

Nadia Cowdrey, partner at Griffith Smith Farrington Webb, said: “Everyone here in the office is very proud of the work HART does and think this is a tremendous achievement.

“HART makes a huge difference to the community in and around Henfield.”
