For the first time, it has also been included in the Tatler Schools Guide 2015 – a guide for the top independent senior and prep schools in the United Kingdom.

It has been a remarkable turnaround for this co-educational prep school in mid-Sussex. In 2011, pupil numbers were falling and the school’s reputation was suffering. However, the arrival of a new Headmaster and a major shake up of the school has resulted in it being one of the most sought after independent schools in Sussex.

Headmaster, Graeme Owton, is rightly proud of the school’s achievements and is clear as to the reasons why the school is in such demand. “We are very much a school community and everyone has been determined to ensure the education we offer our children is the very best it can be. The staff here work extremely hard and are passionate about giving our pupils the very best opportunities in all areas of school life.”

Handcross Park, a member of the Brighton College Family of Schools, is going from strength to strength, with pupil numbers at the highest they have been for many years. Owton added: “This is just the first step on our journey, with further improvements planned in the years ahead. I could not be prouder of what the staff have achieved so far and I know they remain just as determined to build on our recent success. It is a very exciting time for the school.”
