The Team of Lucia Mayhew, Suzie Lunt and Millie Bubb has now qualified in the 40cm, 50cm and 60cm classes for the Championships in November.

All classes were ‘two phase’ which means they are timed at a certain point and the best times win. In the teams they take the best three times and, so, being a team of three, the girls knew they had to do well and work hard.

In the 40cm class Lucia Mayhew was placed 3rd out of 26 riders. In the 50cm class there were 12 teams and the girls gained 1st place - a fantastic achievement against some very strong competition. The 60cm class was going to be the hardest one, against 13 teams and facing Cranleigh (Gold). The girls rode amazingly in the torrential rain with brilliant team spirit and really supported each other.

The final result showed the Farlington girls placed 2nd! The time difference between all three girls was exceptionally close. Louise Higson, Farlington’s Headmistress, says, “Farlington strongly supports the girls in their riding pursuits and Marion White, the Riding Manager, ensures that the squad is very competitive both at school competitions and on an individual basis and we are very proud of the girls’ achievements at Felbridge.”
