Grateful for help on Bobble Day

On behalf of Age UK Horsham District, I am writing to express our thanks, through your newspaper, to shoppers who contributed to our Bobble Day street collection in Horsham town on February 7.

Donations on the day, totalling £976.38, will be used to support our services that do not receive any regular funding such as our Information and Advice Office or our Home Visiting Service. Both of which are in great demand and operate completely free of charge to the community across the entire 205 square miles of Horsham District.

FrieslandCampina, who have offices in Horsham, made their staff available for the day and made up a large number of our volunteers.

The company kindly offered to match the total their employees made on the day which contributed just over another £800 to the total.

Thanks to wonderful volunteers, no expenses were incurred in connection with the collection.

We are an independent, local charity and although we receive some grants, we have to rely on our own fundraising efforts as well as donations and legacies. If any of your readers would like to know more about donating money or their time and skills, they could telephone 01403 260560 or view our website www.ageukhorshamdistrict.org.uk
