Martin Spurrier said: “Elephantastic has captured the sponsors’ and public’s imaginations.

“It is a win-win-win event with the each of the commercial sponsors, the charities and the public benefitting.

“In our village alone 15 Jengers Mead and High Street retailers and businesses have sponsored an elephant and taken the time and trouble to decorate them wonderfully, all for good causes. Billingshurst is a truly creative community”.

Billingshurst sponsors are: Jengers Craft Bakery, Global Finance, Book-a-Gift, Essential Harmony, Fowlers Estate Agents, Rotary Club of Billingshurst, Billingshurst Chamber of Commerce/Chestnut Tree House, CoCos, Across the Globe, Henry Adams, Pet Doctors, Austens and the Billingshurst Post Office.

The Billingshurst Chamber of Commerce’s benefitting charities are Chestnut Tree House, the children’s hospice for Sussex, and The Dame Vera Lynn Trust for Children with Cerebral Palsy.

The overall Elephantastic event is organized by The Rotary Club of Horsham, supported by the Town Business Partnership, Horsham Unlimited CIC Ltd, and Horsham District Council with proceeds going to numerous charities.

In addition, local charity Born Free is a partner to the overall event and their current campaign to create an Elephant Sanctuary in Europe.

The Elephantastic Trails open for five weeks in the school holidays from Monday July 27 to Sunday August 30.

Elephant Trail and competitions and prizes will be announced on the ‘Elephantastic’ Facebook page or search Elephantastic Horsham.
