Over 240 students from Year 9 had the opportunity to meet employer representatives from business areas such as the Armed Forces, HR, Journalism, Banking, Photography, IT and Engineering to name but a few.

As part of the morning’s activities, Year 9 students worked in small groups with several business volunteers.

The students had five minutes to quiz an employer on any aspect of their job such as; qualifications and skills needed, different entry routes, working hours, income and training and development opportunities.

Reflecting on the morning of Speed Dating, Mrs Wilson commented on the fact that “this event allows students the opportunity to meet many different business professionals and talk to people face to face.

“This event compliments our Year 9 Options process and we are incredibly grateful to our volunteers who have given up their time to attend this event. Students feedback is always incredibly positive”.

The next event in our Careers calendar will be our Future Choices Fair taking place on Wednesday 11th February 6.30pm – 8.30pm.
