LETTER: Facilities become badly overloaded

Has anyone else noticed how, with all the new houses being packed into the Horsham area, the town's facilities are becoming desperately overloaded?

The roads are frantically busy all day every day; it can take weeks to get a doctor’s appointment; parking at Horsham Hospital is almost impossible; there are parked cars everywhere; the buses are packed.

And what of the commuters’ cars now blocking for a considerable distance half of the busy Rusper Road all day long, do they not create a traffic hazard?

If West Sussex must have thousands of new houses, surely we should have started a new town, with its own facilities, instead of monstrously overloading those already existing.

I believe objections to a new town focused on the need to preserve some people’s views of ‘glorious Sussex’; surely it is time to look again at the idea of a new town before Horsham is ruined.
