Impact on the neighbourhood

Whilst I agree the traffic around the Tesco Express store in Redkiln Way, Horsham, is a nightmare at times I feel the store is not wholly to blame ('˜Congestion around store', letters, October 11).

Why is there so much traffic around what used to be a relatively quiet road through an industrial estate?

Because the local authority planners continue to grant permission for new housing to be built without consideration of the impact on the neighbourhood.

Each new property at the Linden development on Parsonage Road for example adds at least one and usually two vehicles to the already congested road network, with no onus on the builders to make any improvements.

I understand the pressing need for new housing, but this shouldn’t be agreed without regard to the existing local infrastructure.
