Mum left shell-shocked after chicken laid what could be the world’s smallest egg - the size of a PENNY

Mum-of-three Leanne Knight, 31, was amazed when partner David Williams, 43, brought in the tiny ovum - the same size as a chocolate Mini-Egg.

David found it in the nest of their hen Vera, a two-and-a-half year old Silkie.

The giggling pair measured the eggs-treamly small specimen at just 2.4cm long and 5.1g and after doing some research online reckon it beats others by around 2g.
