MILD and dry is the Christmas forecast before a return to colder weather.
Netweather’s Ian Michaelwaite said: “I’m starting to feel a little Grinch like telling people the weather for the Christmas weekend.
“Saturday has a bright start with a chance of an early frost, but from there we currently see the temperature creep up, making for a mild and, hopefully, mainly dry weekend.
“By mild we aren’t saying it’s beach and barbecue weather, but largely frost free overnight and temperatures maybe touching double figures on the big day itself.
“Perfect weather to walk off the turkey overload, a true Green Christmas?
“Things are starting to look a little more interesting further into next week, where there are signs of the colder weather returning, but how cold and how far south it will reach is hard to tell this far in advance.
