FRESH in people’s minds is keeping up the dreaded New Year’s resolutions and Horsham District Council is at hand to help.
The council’s Health Walk scheme is now in place to help residents keep fit in the coming year.
The district has some beautiful countryside to explore and volunteer walk leaders have worked hard to find and lead 200 guided walks for everyone to enjoy.
The walks take place every weekend as well as regularly throughout the week, months and year.
Walking is a great form of exercise for people of all ages and, as well as being sociable, regular exercise can help relieve anxiety and depression.
Jill Shuker, Health Walk co-ordinator at Horsham District Council, said: “Most people can walk and these walks have been designed especially with everyone in mind; walking is easy, and the feeling that you get from the fresh air is just exhilarating.
“The walks are short and not too fast, and you can walk at your own pace, enjoying the peace and tranquility that our lovely countryside offers.”
