THE UK’s fastest growing hotel chain, Travelodge, has announced the creation of 20 new jobs via the opening of its 460th hotel - Horsham Central Travelodge.

Located on Worthing Road, the 67-room hotel, scheduled to open end of January, represents an investment of £2.5 million and will offer rooms from just £19 per night.

Travelodge recruits all of its new entry level staff via the Local Employment Partnerships with Jobcentre Plus. This innovative scheme focuses on getting the local long-term unemployed back in to work by offering pre-employment training and a guaranteed job interview - which in most cases leads to a permanent position.

Commenting on the partnership, Iain Goswell, Travelodge’s district manager for Sussex, Surrey and Berkshire said: “The opening of our Horsham Central Travelodge represents a significant boost for the local economy and we are delighted to announce the creation of 20 new jobs.

“By working with the local Job Centre we have specifically targeted the long-term unemployed by giving them pre-employment training to help boost their confidence and assist in developing their interviewing skills. We are delighted to have recruited such a strong team for our Horsham Central Travelodge, over the next four weeks staff will be trained in local Travelodge hotels so that they are completely ready for our big opening, end of January 2011.”
